In the food service and hospitality sector, food management is a daily challenge.
Unused quantities, the increasing volume of waste and operational costs directly affect the sustainability of businesses. However, adopting small and targeted actions in daily operations can make a meaningful contribution both to environmental protection and to improving business competitiveness.
With the aim of encouraging and practically supporting the implementation of such actions, the Department of Environment is organizing an informational workshop, during which tools and best practices will be presented that contribute to:
- reducing food waste,
- proper waste management,
- saving resources,
- reducing environmental footprint and
- enhancing business competitiveness.
In this context, the Project LIFE IP Zero Waste Cyprus will also participate, presenting its targeted actions to support professionals in the sector, while at the same time giving them the opportunity to highlight the challenges they face, discuss their needs, and explore new opportunities for collaboration.
This meeting is not limited to an informational purpose, but also constitutes a valuable opportunity for the exchange of know-how and experiences, as well as for strengthening networking among participants.
