Presentation of the Draft Sustainability Study for the Establishment of a Sorting System at the Source, separate collection of recyclables and bio-waste and the Implementation of a “Pay As You Throw” System

On Tuesday, January 16, 2024, a presentation was made by the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) of the Draft Sustainability Study for the Establishment of a Sorting System at the Source, Separate Collection of Recyclables and Bio-waste and Implementation of the “Pay As You Throw with Prepaid Bag” system in the newly established Municipality of Aradippou which includes the communities of Kellia, Trulloi and Kochi.

The draft Study included:
1. Study of Qualitative and Quantitative Waste Composition
2. Feasibility Study
3. Technoeconomic Study
4. Cost-Benefit Analysis Study

NTUA representatives were professor Dr. Maria Loizidou and Dr. Efi Tritopoulou. In addition, the event was attended by the Deputy Mayor of Aradippou as well as representatives of the Department of Environment, the Municipality of Aradippou, the Development Agencies of Larnaca and Nicosia, Green Dot and others.
