A meeting of the Partners of the LIFE-IP CYzero WASTE (LIFE20/IPE/CY/000011) Project regarding the implementation of the pilot application of the separate sorting of organic waste in the Municipality of Aradippou was held on Friday, February 24th 2023, at the Municipal Hall of Aradippou.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the Department of Environment (Project Coordinator), representatives of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), representatives of the Municipality of Aradippou and the company that advises the Municipality of Aradippou, on environmental issues.

More precisely, during the meeting, a presentation was made regarding the waste streams produced, as well as, their management methods and a constructive discussion was held regarding the options that exist for the separate sorting of organic waste, based on the findings of the pilot application of separate sorting of organic waste that took place in the Municipality of Aradippou between November 2020 and June 2021.

As it was agreed by all parties, the meetings’ frequency will be increased in the next period of time, for the optimal design of the system of separate sorting at the source of the organic waste in order to be successfully implemented as a pilot case in the Municipality, within the framework LIFE-IP CYzero WASTE.
